Thin Client Administration, Configuration and Maintenance
Focusing in on a single client, the options and possibilities for administration and supervision are numerous.
Basic stuff first: the client can be renamed, configured to boot its Multiframe client operating system either from RAM (needs to be downloaded at each boot) or from local harddrive, and it can be shut down/started up, reinstalled now/at next boot/when idle, and it can be moved between groups of clients.
You can probe (like a ping; "hello, are you there?") the client, and you are also told when the client was last seen.
The device log is also available, where all significant changes to the client are listed.
You can send a text message to the client, which will pop up on the client's screen.
There may be situations where your IT operations/helpdesk personell needs to see what the end user sees on his or her client screen. This is of course available from the Multiframe Administration Server, where remote control of a client is possible by either using VNC or RDP.
One or more previously defined Mixin Profiles, Sessions and/or Scheduled tasks can be assigned to the Multiframe Client (or a number of clients).
Both the IP and MAC address can be reviewed and, if needed, changed.
A large number of hardware and software parametres can be read - basic info like CPU and installed memory, and in-depth details regarding PCI devices, display adapters, etc.
Software options can be reviewed and changed, as can configurations regarding display, mouse, keyboard, etc.
Local printing, USB access and more can also be set.
Actually, spending some time exploring all the options is highly recommended!
Why don't you point your browser to
and check out the Multiframe Administration Server for yourself?
You'll find a complete and running installation of the MF Admin Server for you to test.
Go wild, you can't destroy anything!
